If you do want to be whitelisted somewhere though, a good tip might be to browse their forums beforehand and look at the rules in detail, read some posts both from people explaining how to be whitelisted as well as the ones posting about how and why they were refused. I just feel like the whole thing is sort of a popularity contest, that and the sense of arrogance some of these people have leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I would like to join a good normal, non-rp whitelisted server, but I just haven't had the time or motivation to put forth the effort for something that I would be automatically refused anyways. I just think the rules on these servers are too strict so they can pretty much find a reason to ban you if they need/want to, many are hypocritical to the realistic sort of immersion that roleplaying is meant to bring as well. These things turn the game into a sort of chatroom with guns type environment. I think that having strict rules of engagement and what amounts to the LOAC in an environment like DayZ isn't really 'authentic', I guess you could say, to the game. While I respect people's opinions and desire not to be immediately killed a few minutes after spawn, I do believe there is a place for it in a chaotic, post apoc world. Sometimes I just simply don't feel like interacting with people as well, but RPing based solely on a characters actions without communicating is against the rules. I guess its more or less uncommon, but at some point you will have to deal with this because some males like to roleplay females and don't want to sound like Dr. Streamers seem to just be whitelisted by default as far as I can tell, so maybe make some youtube videos and you're in.Īnother thing on the RP servers is the text rp, I can't stand trying to interact (rp anyways) with anyone using text and most of the populated ones I've seen it is against the rules to simply walk away from player interaction, forcing me to sit there and deal with something I find to be more aggravating than entertaining. You could write the most amazing story about your character and mention every rule but one, off the wall, small thing that pretty much everyone on the server ignores anyways and be refused.
I am not a kid or a hacker, but the criterion for being whitelisted on some servers/server groups is just offputting.
